Summary[]

Mr. Gruber and Paddington are at Wimbledon, the most famous tennis tournament, where Gruber will report on it for his book. Mr. Townsend welcomes them both, commenting that they may just need a "ball bear".

First Townsend shows them to the locker room. They see a man named Todd Davis, a number one player who is preparing himself mentally. Mr. Gruber and Townsend move on, but Paddington, stunned, accidentally opens Todd's locker and spills his rackets. Todd is angered. Paddington is taken outside the room, to a place where the players are warming up. The sergeant, Mr. Bashum, asks Paddington for his uniform. Paddington brings up the ball bear, so Paddington has decides to go along with them on the field. Soon, the match begins. Mr. Gruber and Mr. Townsend look for Paddington, and find him seated on a tall chair, until he is asked to get off it.

Paddington seats in one of the purple chairs and has a drink of juice from a cooler, but Todd scolds him for it. Paddington is taken to his true position, standing by the court. When the ball goes off court, Paddington is requested to get the ball. He constantly gets the balls and stuffs them in his pockets, plus other places. Soon though, all the balls fall out of him when he trips. Todd is angered and starts throwing the balls at him, but Paddington shows him a picture of Aunt Lucy and tells him not to be rude as, "it isn't how you win or lose, it's how you play the game". Todd remembers his aunt saying that too, and apologizes to Paddington.
